Insurance Data Acquisition (ETL) Developer

Job Description:

This position will require an individual with good interpersonal skills who can work with our clients to obtain insurance data extracts and integrate them into a data warehouse. The individual will be responsible for analyzing data and resolving any missing or invalid data elements in order to meet an established minimum set of requirements. The individual will be responsible for creating Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes for loading the data sets into a centralized data warehouse. They will also be responsible for creating balancing and validation procedures as well as summary reports.

Required Skills:

• BS in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in an insurance analytics or reporting environment .
• Knowledge of insurance system functions as well as insurance industry terminology.
• Good data manipulation skills and the ability to interpret insurance data.
• Detailed knowledge of computerized query tools, reporting tools and relational databases. Experience with a major relational database, Crystal Reports or Business Objects a plus.

Desired Skills:

• Underwriting or claims adjusting experience
• Prior project management experience
• Knowledge or experience with data warehousing

Senior Java/J2EE Developer

Job Description:

This position will require a professional with strong J2EE experience and good interpersonal skills who can work with our development team to architect, develop and deploy web-based custom Java/J2EE insurance applications.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree or better
• 5+ years J2EE experience
• Extensive knowledge of various design patterns and MVC principles
• Proficiency with the following technologies - JSP, JSF, STRUTS, EJBs, Hibernate, XML, XSLT and Javascript
• Firm understanding of mainstream application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, JRun, etc.)
• Experience designing and implementing applications utilizing mainstream RDBMS’s (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.)
• Proven track record of consistently delivering high quality and easily maintainable technical solutions which meet or exceed all business expectations

Desired Skills:

• Prior project management experience
• Expertise with the full software development life cycle
• Knowledge of insurance system functions as well as insurance industry terminology
• Insurance experience (underwriting or claims adjusting)
